TRACKS

Two Blues dance workshop tracks with 5 hours of classes each are waiting for you at Winter Wonderland Blues:

  • Intermediate track
  • Advanced track.

What track is the right one for me?

Our teachers have provided a guideline for you to determine where you are standing:

Intermediate:

You have taken blues classes before, dance blues socially and have attended a few (or more) workshops. You’re ready to develop your understanding of the blues, improve your technique and widen your dancing vocabulary!

Advanced:

You go to regular blues classes, have attended international workshops and you dance blues regularly. You have a sound understanding of the blues and solid technique and you’re ready for more!

What do I do if I am a beginner?

We recommend, get yourself a Party ticket and book a private class with Vicci and/or Adamo. When you are at the beginning of your journey into Blues dancing having a private class with lots of personal feedback from these great teachers will bring you from zero to hero.

Privates can be booked in the registration form.

TEACHERS

From https://www.adamoandvicci.com/about-us/ about Vicci Moore and Adamo Ciarallo:

Adamo

(is dedicated to nurturing, developing, and promoting the blues scene in Europe. Thanks to his impressive linguistic abilities he can offer classes in English, Spanish, Italian and (passable) French!

Adamo has a professional qualification in teaching adults and he sees his role as teacher to facilitate the classroom in response to learner’s needs, enabling all students to achieve their potential. His classes focus on highlighting the relationship between the dancers and the music and the importance of personal expression and creativity.

He loves social dancing, teaching, competing, and listening to music, and spends his ‘spare’ time reading and learning about the history of the dance forms he loves so much.  What makes Adamo’s dancing life worthwhile is the commitment, enthusiasm, and energy of his students and everybody else in what he describes as “this beautiful community of dancers”.

In addition to teaching classes around the globe Adamo is the co-founder and organiser of The Blues Room online dance school, Bluesology Teacher Training (Valencia, Spain) , The Jump dance training (Valencia, Spain), Good Time Blues Fest (Guglionesi, Italy) and co-organiser of ESpanish Blues Festival (Madrid, Spain).

Vicci

(pronounced Vicky, but spelt strangely!) is a professional dancer, specialising in blues dance.

Whether it is doing it, teaching it, watching it, researching it, performing it, filming it or talking about it, there is nothing Vicci loves more in the world than dancing! She trained in a number of solo dances before discovering partner dancing in her twenties, has a diploma in Anatomy and Physiology, a first class honours degree in Dance and Choreography, accredited training in teaching adults and a Masters degree in Education.

Vicci demonstrates this wealth of experience and knowledge in her classes, where she strives to help her students become ‘thinking dancers’, giving them the tools to create and improvise, and find their own voice in the dance.

In addition to teaching classes around the globe Vicci is the co-founder and organiser of The Blues Room online dance school, Bluesology Teacher Training (Valencia, Spain), The Jump dance training (Valencia, Spain), and co-organisers of ESpanish Blues Festival (Madrid, Spain).

As a teacher not from the African American culture that created Blues dance, Vicci is dedicated to educating herself about the history, cultural values and the social context of the dance in order to honour the art form and the people who created it. She strives to pass on what she learns in every class, as well as in her ‘Discover The Blues‘ blog.

MUSICIANS

During our parties on Saturday and Sunday we present to you these amazing Blues Musicians:

Stef Rosen, Roger Wade and Lorenzo „Washboard Man“ Bergamino (Saturday)

Stef Rosen is a guitar player and singer from Berlin, Germany. His way of composing, playing and arranging is inspired by the soulful electric blues from the late 60s and early 70s.

He looks at the tradition of this music with a personal and respectful attitude. He is constantly touring around the World, playing in blues clubs, Festival, and blues dance events as solo artist or collaborating with other great musicians and bands.

He has been constantly touring non-stop..from New York to Seoul, from London to Moscow .. anywhere people need to dance their blues away!

Accompanied by the wonderful Roger Wade (Harmonica/Vocals) and Lorenzo „Washboard Man“ Bergamino (Percussions) , they create music unlike we have heard in Erlangen before.

Klaus Brandl (Sunday)

Guitarist and singer Klaus Brandl began his Never-Ending-Franconian-Tour in the early eighties.

After years as an electric guitarist in various blues bands, Brandl switched to acoustic guitar and developed his unmistakable style of melancholy slide guitar, open tunings and fast fingerpicking. Bluesy ballads, quirky rock’n’roll numbers, Hawaiian sounds or waltzes à la Grinzing form the foundation of his music.

They are songs about the darker side of life, „nightsongs“ by losers and survivors, performed with a brittle voice and oddball self-irony, independent and unconventional.
